“Doctor, can I go into the sea? I take anticoagulants...”
A question I am often asked these days, and the truth is that the answer is not always the same for everyone.
The sea can do good: it relaxes, activates the body, clears the mind. But when you are on anticoagulation, you need a little extra care.
In every summer conversation with my patients, I tell them:
Yes, you can enjoy the sea, but:
Avoid splashes, rocks and areas with currents
Always go with a group
Bring a hat, water, sunscreen and… some common sense
The sea is not forbidden - but it becomes friendlier when you know how to approach it.
