Snoring is not always "innocent". And it's certainly not just a nuisance for the person sleeping next to you. In many cases, snoring is caused by sleep apnea - a breathing disorder that occurs during sleep and significantly increases cardiovascular risk.
Some of the symptoms are:
Pauses in breathing during the night
Intense daytime sleepiness
Shortness of breath or feeling like you are "suffocating" in your sleep
Headache or dry throat in the morning
Restless, interrupted sleep
Snoring that… wakes up the whole house
If you've noticed any of these, it's time for a cardiopulmonary check-up! A simple check can clarify the picture and protect you.
