Heat can alter blood pressure and increase the risk of dehydration. Dizziness, weakness and low readings need attention in people taking antihypertensive or diuretics.
Measure blood pressure as agreed with the doctor and inform him of repeated low values or symptoms. Do not reduce or stop medications on your own.
Avoid intense heat and adjust fluids to your personal guidelines. We do not arbitrarily increase salt or fluid intake, especially in heart failure or kidney disease.
The information is general and is not a substitute for medical evaluation. Do not change your treatment without instructions. For urgent symptoms call 112 or 166.
